About me
I’m Kathryn, originally from Wakefield in West Yorkshire and I’ve studied at both Barnsley College and Leeds Beckett University so as you can tell I’m a bit of a home bird! Although I love discovering new places I’ll always be a Yorkshire girl at heart.
Design has been a passion of mine since my school days and I’ve always enjoyed creating things so it only seemed fitting to pursue a similar route in both further and higher education.
Whilst at University I was studying as part of a sandwich course which meant that after my second year I could take a placement year to gain industry experience. I also started working freelance in between my studies.
After graduating I decided to take this path and joined a small agency in Wakefield to improve my skills and work in an environment with a family vibe. After 2 and a half years I realised I wasn’t in Kansas anymore…
After this role I worked in two further positions, an in-house position and then at a startup agency with a small but growing team. 2 months later I was called into a meeting and told my role was going to be moved to the overseas office!
A year of uncertainty in my job and feeling lost is enough to drive anyone into a pit of despair but I decided that enough was enough; I would push the freelance business I’d started back in my Uni days and take control of my own future.
So here I am, more than ready to take on your project after working with a variety of clients such as; bridal boutiques, wedding photographers, bar & lounges, artists and e-learning providers, the list goes on!
I’ve found satisfaction in helping small business owners create a solution to help them grow; working with brands that I feel I can connect with.
